| Edmond A. Kavounas Executive Managing Director & Co-Founder San Francisco Experience Mr. Kavounas has overall responsibility for managing Rockwood and implementing its investment program. From 1980 to 1995, Director and Executive Vice President of Competrol Real Estate Limited, a private real estate investment company, partner and co-founder of Sullivan Smith & Kavounas, a real estate investment advisor and co-manager of RAR/CREL, a real estate investment partnership between Competrol Real Estate Limited (CREL), and Rockefeller & Associates Realty (RAR) formed in 1990 to invest in U.S. real estate for five major international investors. CREL and RAR/CREL invested over $ 1 billion throughout the U.S. in office buildings, residential and mixed use projects pursuing value add and opportunistic strategies buying single assets and portfolios at below replacement cost and adding value through entitlement, development, re-development and re-positioning. Investments were made through separate accounts and two commingled funds Pools I and II. From 1973 to 1980, held various executive positions with Mobil Corporation’s real estate development subsidiary, Mobil Land Development Company (MLDC), including Vice President of MLDC, General Counsel of MLDC, Manager of MLDC’s midwest operations and member of MLDC’s Executive Committee. During the real estate downturn of the mid-1970’s MLDC built up a real estate development business in large scale, mixed use real estate developments in high growth U.S. suburban markets. MLDC acquired, planned, developed, managed and marketed several large scale mixed use real estate projects, including: Reston, Virginia; “Redwood Shores”, Redwood City, California; “Windward”, Atlanta, Georgia; “Sailfish Point”, Stuart, Florida; “Stonegate”, Denver, Colorado and the “Banning Lewis Ranch”, Colorado Springs, Colorado. From 1969 to 1972, attorney, in Fresno, California, associate and then partner of the law firm, Kimble, MacMichael and Jackson, specializing in corporate, finance, and real estate law.
